Filipino ingenuity never fails to surprise me and sometimes even makes me scratch my head.

Writing the first words of anything—a journal, blog post, or article—is always the hardest part for me. This update proves it once again.

There’s something about exploring historical sites in a scenic setting that makes it way more fun.

Ci'en Pagoda, Sun Moon Lake, Taiwan

Catching up! Worth 3 days
For the past few days, I haven't updated my journal.

I’m Asian, but sometimes I find myself loving bread more than rice. Honestly, I joke that I might be a Westerner trapped in an Asian body.

I’m lucky to have a relaxing view of the mountains in my hometown.

Last Sunday, I planned to relax, rest my back, and recharge spiritually. But things didn’t go as planned. I gave in to my guilty pleasure again and ended up working on content creation instead of fully unwinding.

I LOVE MAPS

and map makers are AMAZING
One the tedious parts of mapmaking is labeling!

Anyway for this next preview of my 1600s Dutch-style map, I’ve differentiated the colors of the continents, added way more labels, and added cityscapes of New York, Tokyo, Rio, and Cape Town. It’s looking pretty good, I think. ❤️🗺️

I’d love to reflect in a place like this—without the tourist crowds.

(Today's update: a whole lot of reflection)

One of the things I hate about myself is how easily I give in to my guilty pleasures. They always get in the way of my productivity and slow down my progress toward my goals. Take this morning, for example.

That content I just published? It’s about 100,000 to 120,000 words across 24 blog posts. I hope it reaches the people who need it soon. That’s probably what every content creator wishes for when they put their work online.

Yesterday, I took a quick break from editing photos and ended up at the nearest mall—to get some sunlight! 😂

Typical life in a tropical country: you need air conditioning just to enjoy sunlight comfortably. Here’s the view.

Let this be a friendly reminder to reward yourself, even for small wins! Treat yourself to your favorite food or drink, or take a short trip. Celebrate your progress!

Now it’s getting hot again in tropical countries just north of the equator, like the Philippines.

I’ll definitely miss writing here since it’ll be either too hot or too rainy for the next ten months.

It always makes me think about how lucky people in temperate regions are.

Aesthetics and visuals are where I really shine. I always make sure that whatever I create looks as good as it possibly can with the tools I have. That’s probably why it’s taking me a little longer to edit the photos for these posts I’m migrating.

Today’s update kicks off with a rant. Here’s my day summed up in one strong statement:

“I don’t take unsolicited advice, especially from unsuccessful relatives who act like they know what’s best for me but actually know nothing about me.”

As a content creator, how do you spend your weekends? Me? I don’t follow the days of the week. I work when I can and rest when I need to. This past Saturday and Sunday was a typical mix of both, though I spent more time with my family overall.

Not feeling well tonight. Update will be posted tomorrow

Believe it or not, that’s sand I’m standing on in the picture—powder-like sand, and yes, it’s in the Philippines.

What’s one simple, unbelievable moment you’ve had during your travels?

Valentine’s Day—what is it really? Since I started studying marketing, I realized that somehow it’s just another ploy to make people spend money.

Do you want to experience the colonial era of the Philippines?

This massive hotel in Bagac, Bataan, feels like a mini village of beautifully preserved heritage buildings relocated from various parts of the country.

Here’s my favorite spot:

When someone you care about suggests something that’s good for you, even if you don’t agree, try not to get upset or angry. They’re probably just worried because they care about you. It’s their way of showing love. Be thankful, even if you don’t say it out loud.

Today, I realized that just being consistent isn’t enough to succeed.
