I had to quickly double check this. And sure enough, you can clearly here someone (Probably the VA/ADR Director) saying yes. Must've been missed during audio mastering: youtu.be/L9ePJJp1P8E?...

PSP-2003 Model. Good choice.

How old is the Pro Controller? If it's from around 2017-2019 it'll be one of the early revisions that had defects with the dpad registering ghost inputs or not handling diagonals correctly.

And getting there requires a lot of horsepower to achieve. Most commercial emulation packages will slice as many possible corners as it can for timings and features until they have no choice but to do system level or per game hacks if that's what it takes to get it running on underpowered hardware.

Doing SNES well is a difficult task, chiefly because the hardware requires cycle accurate timings for certain S-PPU features, HDMA and IRQ requests, pseudo hi-res, all of which need to be in lockstep with the CPU and APU.

The co-processors add extra headache due to architectural variances.

The 3DS's ARM11 CPU isn't very strong for emulation tasks. Nintendo barely got SNES working on NEW 3DS thanks to having a MUCH higher clockspeed and a extra CPU Core. All 3DS games by default only use one core, the second is kept for HorizonOS, on N3DS the 3rd is for Stable 3D and 4th for games.

Leftover files within the 3DS Virtual Console (Which is a multi-system emulator unlike Wii/Wii-U) indicate the plan instead was to emulate the much easier to support GBA version using a GBA emulator. That was abandoned due to performance issues and they used AGB_FIRM instead (Full native GBA)

Yoshi's Island would be tricky to port quickly due to it using both the core SNES and the GSU-2, so you'd need to translate both SNES and RISC assembly to a modern platform.

3DS doesn't have the horse power either to emulate it well either, not even with the NEW 3DS' better CPU.

Correct. 3D Classics are heavily modified ports in order to pull off the 3D effect. The Sega 3D Classics are using a modified Mega Drive emulator (Creating a fantasy platform known as GigaDrive)

Yup. It's pretty much the golden model of the entire Master System range. Throw in a catridge adapter for the main cart slot or use a adapter to go through the Expansion Port for US/PAL games (Matches the intl cart slot, just inverted) & you have everything needed to experience the entire library.

Beautiful machine. Never trusted the expansion port though, especially the ribbon cable for the FM Sound unit.

A few years later, the "Mark IV" would debut as a re-release of the international Master System in Japan, with the 3D glasses, Turbo and FM Sound all built into the console.

And this is what we call a artistic massacre. Extremely bad upscaling on assets, no VWF, everything smeared to buggery with HQX filtering that some people insist on it improving pixel art for some dumb reason when it does the exact opposite

Oh, and this is blatantly PS1, not Saturn as they claimed.

Going by the weapon UI, it's the PC version. PS2 used a far more muted color palette for it's weapon UI. Can't be the Original Xbox version because of lighting differences and model edits (Especially adding actual hands and not cupped mittens)

Nah, never could stand the New Xbox Experience and Metro interface that came later on.

Blades for life!

Was going to ask how the MSX LD games work. Figured it would be a Floppy/Cart for program then stream the analog audio/video through ala the LaserActive.

That said, can any generic era LD player be used with the MSX (Or MSX2/2+) or is it specific models only via a serial cable or something?

I've also spent my recovery time over the summer writing out the entirety of RAVEN's Fragment Wielders, their structure, powers, weaknesses, how they tie to the AFSF, the LHU and Libertalia.

It's still not finished but it's getting there. I had to zoom it out to 10% because it's gotten massive lol.
