There’s been so many plans at LAUS that it’s hard to remember which ones were “official official” or ones just made for…reasons. I think this one was from the 2011 Grimshaw master plan, which had some interesting overbuild ideas, but really didn’t survive the recession

They wanted to do this in 2006, including a separate HSR station which if I remember correctly was a deep-bore station.

You misspelled, “Republicans aim to restrict constitutionally-protected speech of their political foes.”

Make this legal everywhere:

2 & 3 story buildings with zero front yards and zero lot line setbacks, sitting on narrow streets.

This is Berlin, Maryland, and is probably my favorite small town.

What part about “No Kings” did you not understand, Donald?

As a former architect, it’s hard to take architects serious when this happens.

If you want to treat the commencement of Queens West development as the starting point (1994) then it's been about 18.5 years on average to build the buildings which make up the current LIC/Hunters Point skyline.

Because this will come up in the One LIC rezoning: shadows. There’s a park near my kids school that is in shadow right after school lets out. It’s great in warmer days to play there, because the equipment is cool, and we don’t get burned.

All I’m saying is that #NotAllShadows

In about two weeks, store shelves are going to begin to empty out and stuff is going to get expensive. Great Times interactive piece here:

This is incorrect: the track gauge - the distance between the rails - is the same throughout the system and basically North America (with some exceptions).

At this month’s CB2 meeting Captain Armani of the @nypdnews.bsky.social promised he would look into clearing the sidewalks.

Good on the nypd for finally listening to the community. Promises made and kept.

I love that the MTA puts how much CO2 you avoid by taking MetroNorth and LIRR but I also wish it would use additional units which matter to people. Like how many tree’s worth of co2 that you avoided. Or some sort of relevant user centric metric

Small cell sites come in different forms:

1️⃣ Pole-Mounted Canister (cellula urbana vas)
📡 A cylindrical antenna mounted on utility poles & streetlights. Common in dense commercial areas.
2️⃣ Pole-Mounted Stick (cellula urbana columna)
📶 A thin, stick-like antenna that minimizes visual impact.

📡 NYC’s wireless network is getting denser with small cell sites—compact antennas placed on poles, buildings, and public spaces to expand 4G & 5G coverage. These aren’t your towering cell masts; they integrate into existing infrastructure. 🏙️ #SmallCells #5G #NYC
