So true. It takes a lot more effort , energy and resources to refute facts than accept them.

Really? Promoting consumerism over generosity? If somebody needs for nothing, isn’t the best gift an act of kindness, care or compassion?

Naming and shaming can be traced back to Ancient Rome. A time where belonging, community and citizenship was different. Although, people were ostracised they were also allowed back. This is clearly not possible nowadays as you have discussed in your blog. Restorative justice should be advocated for.

It is not surprising really, as we readily accept ideas from a ‘trusted’ source - to do the opposite takes a whole lot more effort and resources. But I guess the chatbot generators knew that!

That could be part of what if we consider the correlation between how viruses are spread and the vaccines that are being targeted. What is known about the deep seated beliefs held by the man pushing his-this agenda ?

Is there any correlation between how viruses are spread and the vaccines that are being targeted? Might say something about the deep seated beliefs that have nothing to do with health, science or compassion?

Buying favour from children - disappointing. If they actually wanted to make a difference. There are many more humble ways without notoriety or branding. Nothing is free.

Outrageous! Shame Elaine couldn’t return the favour and and ask the ICE agents to prove their First Nation status - who exactly is the illegal immigrant? A matter of perspective? Or which laws you follow or are forced to follow?

Is it stupidity or is it fear? Decisions are hard. What do people drawing on when they are making decisions about healthcare? What beliefs do they hold? What if trust in the government or medicine is tainted because of past experiences? Do most people understand medical research?

My comment is not in relation to the speech, but to consider the strength of evidence-based arguments and their implications for change. No matter how wonderful, insightful or rational they are I wonder if they could be more influential if we explored and understood how people feel towards them too.

With a nod to Buckminster Fuller (1895 - 1983) We do not change things by fighting against the existing reality. In order to change things we have to develop a new way that makes the old way untenable.

Thks Jane On the same page 13:47 ‘I just have a feeling’ -designing workshops and research for educators et al to enhance understanding of belief-as you found many believe uncritically (easier-not as much reading) Hope in doing so to reframe education = questioning neoliberalism & open to advocacy

The blatant and cutting racism is a reminder that sporting institutions need stamp out unacceptable practices and behaviour to ensure all players are safe and can perform in a respectful environment. The team obviously also needs to be guided in more than sporting prowess.

What does it take for disruptive social movements to change the status quo? Awareness is one thing, but shifting pervasive social and cultural norms that value and foster a sense of entitlement …?
