BESS fires have occurred. There have been, AFAIK, two serious fires at Moss Landing in California but lessons have been learned. Safer battery chemistries are now available and systems are better engineered to prevent & contain fires.

If you want electricity for you home, do you want clean, reliable electricity or dirty, unreliable electricity? If the former, then these battery systems will help you.

Water? There isn't any water consumed in battery energy storage systems.
