I think it has just been accepted as a norm or consensus outlook. Everyone says housing is unaffordable, cars are too expensive, social security will be bankrupt. It is emotionally true.
It will be hard to change that outlook and revoking Trump's tariffs (even if it helps) won't change beliefs.

100% Agree. Dems can eliminate Trump's Tariffs, boost GDP, lower unemployment, and people will still think things are worse because homes and cars are more expensive than they were 10 years ago. Prices won't come down.

In email announcing new schedule for some data delayed by shutdown, BEA says some more statistics are being discontinued. These data relate to foreign investment in the US -- which Trump loves to claim he's boosting.

I can absolutely see Trump trying to "stack" the Section 122 tariffs. 15% plus 15% plus 15%... It will take another year or two to get to the Supreme Court.

Meh, I feel OKish on my Kalshi bet they will uphold them somehow. That said they could be reserving their right to screw future Democratic Presidents

Looking forward to the conservative originalist deciding that when the writers of the constitution gave taxing power to Congress they actually meant the President.

Can you imagine if a democrat did this.

Thank God Elon Musk has randomly cut 20% of the Food and Drug Administration Staff. www.marketplace.org/story/2025/0...
How have DOGE cuts impacted food safety?
Some of the major DOGE cuts targeted administrative and communications staff at food safety agencies.

The entire point to the revolution was that the king's power was too limited and they needed to have a stronger executive.
