Hard to pinpoint, but probably around 2010? Certainly saw an uptick in interest in non digital media and equipment starting around then, and the pandemic just kinda exploded all that.

General quality of modern pressings is very high, but in the early days of the vinyl resurgence audiophile reissues were a significant step up.

2) Nowadays many standard reissue series could also be classified as audiophile, such as the Blue Note Tone Poets and Classics, Acoustic Sounds and Craft OJCs, along with more expensive UHQR and other One Step releases.

Historically a release that had been remastered for modern turntable capabilities, and pressed on heavy, high-grade vinyl for best playback results. Labels like Analogue Productions, Classic Records, Impex, MoFi, Pure Pleasure, Speakers Corner, etc.
