a year ago beams released "requiem for a planet", recorded in this 200 year old barn at the base of the shawangunk mountains in new paltz, NY. it is a magical place - inspiring, transcendent of time. i hope that the album itself is also that.

somehow we've gotta find a way to be like that little tree.

the incredible shrinking shadow! a few years ago, mike and i went to see our producer's band pelican movement play at the widow jane mine in rosendale NY. it was a hyper-sensory experience for me, and on one of my walks to go take a break, i was amused by this. #shadowplay #widowjanemine

i think this is a pond cypress at the cave hill cemetery and arboretum in louisville. did you know that louisville is MUCH more populated than cincinnati? i didn't. also, i seem to recall that this tree was surrounded by scary geese
