So far we only have one really queer Trek series and not only was it - and still is - hated by a majority of the fanbase, Discovery broke through a lot of it. Yet even with its diverse cast and crew, it had its follies.
I cant help but wonder if SNW being so REGRESSIVE is because Disc was so hated.

Paramount is already finishing season 4, and I have no doubt theyre going to double and triple down on this utter Hayes Codesque bs. Even if you could have Spock be with two of his love interests (polyamory hello, thats queer too) I don't trust Paramount to not shit bricks over it.

They have more than a couple really out there compelling characters to have a bisexual/lesbian arcs (La'an, Chapel, Ortegas, Una) but we get TWO shipped with Spock, one after the other. Ortegas gets a healthy dose of trauma for her "sins" (sarcasm) and Una is just the Leader Girl.

Paramount is out here straight washing Trek, SNW is showing that right there in the open. They don't really care about hiring writers with lived experiences, or about showing those stories. They have two of the most widely queer coded characters in all of ST, theyre making them boring ladykillers.

Thats fair, but your original post gives the impression that the most known evidence of harm against women in China as evidence that they never had gender exploration or expansion could be a stumbling block.
I don't know all of the history, but I'm sure there's something to find beyond that.

I mean, that is a notoriously known about harmful body modification based on gender (AFAIK it only happened to women and girls), but I imagine its far from the first or only.
China's history goes back much further than that, I do think that the person in OPs post should try to talk w/fam if possible

Court proceedings are rough for cases like these, emotionally and physically for the victims. So I cant blame her for taking the safer option.

Which team signed those assholes? Might be too early for speculation but I have to wonder at the team cohesion and especially the coaching staff if half your team beats and rapes someone.
Hard decision for the girl, she needs that money to recover and move on, but her story needs to be heard.

Fair point. Canada likely has similar stats for SA, speaking as someone who's been through that, its not something I would wish on anyone.
I think many people do know the stat, if they don't know people who have survived it, but its frustrating cause the powerful guys don't seem to care.

Truly. I get that its wonderfully petty to do that after Paramount bowed, grovelled and rolled over for Trump, but I don't have any more respect for Stone and Parker for this, not after they spent a majority of a season mocking covid, and all of the years they've relentlessly mocked the left.
