Republicans are going to try to distance themselves from this, and the media is going to do their best to let them. It's gonna feel like Bush II remixes, everyone pretending they've never heard of this Trump guy and if they did they were always against him, everyone was. History repeats.

really wanna know if that's intentional or like a mistake where it considers the tombstone to be equivalent to the character for certain purposes

the fact that you criticized them from the left sort of cutting off at the 'you criticized them' part. it's like seeing this not as a part of left politics they don't like, but as its own category of politics that only exists to annoy them and try to make them feel bad.

like people doing 'purity politics', real or hypothetical, would, of course, have a politics their own. but it feels like in the minds of types like mcbride rallying around this, it's not even 'those goddamn lefties' first in their mind, it's 'those annoying busybodies'. they see you as buzzkills.
