BARRING DISASTER is probably something that would happen in Factorio

It would have been Iron Man Mode compatible, were it not for me learning the hard way that Regular Mines aren't just Seeker Mines that are turned off.

Exception.exe but in the creepypasta way instead of the usual way

Way ahead of you

These two types of circumstances, a Concrete Scene I extrapolate into vague options and a Broad Summary with no details to latch on to, are the two primary shapes of all the half-formed stories in my mind.

Somewhat relatedly though, I do have a similar thing I could elaborate on: my idea for a sequel-ish campaign to Homeworld 3’s campaign I would make if BBI put me in charge. That one has a more clear overarching plot but not much detail in any particular part.

The further out things go, the less concrete the plot becomes as I have many different directions it can go. It’s fun to think of the options, but without any of it being concrete there’s not anything to concretely see.

The real minus sign flute is tactically hidden behind the regular minus sign

I look like I’m playing a minus sign flute

Maybe circular will be good enough for what I'm doing. Compared to the imprecision of my measurement tools, the eccentricity of all the KSP planet orbits (except Eeloo) are probably as good as zero anyway.

I'll keep working on it occasionally. Maybe for an Eeloo mission in the late game.

I could cheese the semi-major axis by just timing one full orbit (easier), but since my observation point is usually in orbit itself, it’ll have a variable error up to the semi-minor axis.

Though the bigger problem is that I can’t convert directly to true anomalies anyway
September 16, 2025 at 7:42 PM
Update: I’ve managed to get a pretty long-winded formula for the area of an orbital swept-area only in terms of the semi-major axis, eccentricity, and 2 input true anomalies.

If I can convert my 3 equal-time-spaced observation angles into true anomalies, I can set the 2 sweeps made by them equal.

For all my fondness of math, I hate trig.

I’m metaphorically up to my waist in strips of sines and cosines and I just want to stop
