The electorate are expressing their thanks to the party who brought us Brexit.

At least it means that he doesn’t have to waste his time in Parliament. He can spend it more profitably elsewhere.
October 24, 2025 at 7:22 PM
Quite so. In normal times they could insure against a Reform Ltd victory by continuing to vote Labour. Looks like Plaid were the happy beneficiaries of a double protest vote.
October 24, 2025 at 2:16 PM
Surely they have to try to 'make Brexit work' before announcing that it's impossible. They won't get voter buy in for rejoining until they have been seen to at least try to make it work.

To lose one Cabinet Secretary is unfortunate. To lose two looks like carelessness.

Dear old Mike likes a glass of wine or two.
October 21, 2025 at 8:09 AM
A slight over generalisation - I'm over 50, not a graduate and occasionally patronise Greggs yet I'd rather poke both of my eyes out than vote for Reform Ltd.
October 17, 2025 at 8:41 AM
Unfortunately the supporters of Reform Ltd also want to subvert the status quo.

Also he apparently took 7 months to decide to plead guilty. A plea bargain for a lesser sentence in return for some dirt on co defendants?
October 11, 2025 at 7:07 PM
That’s why I’ve always thought that Starmer will win again despite the current polls.
October 8, 2025 at 6:32 AM
Yes you're certainly in the wrong place.

Xhitter is over there >>>>>
October 7, 2025 at 8:47 AM
Agreed. But it’s not going to happen until Reform Ltd implodes or slumps back to single digits in the polls and the Conservatives once more become a pro EU party.
October 6, 2025 at 8:24 PM
Agreed. I hope to see us rejoin in my lifetime but it’s a good 20 years away, and longer still if Reform Ltd seizes power.
October 6, 2025 at 8:16 PM
The EU will not permit us to rejoin and so it’s a pointless exercise, and for as long as Reform Ltd continues to trade, we will not be allowed to to rejoin. It’s not our decision.
October 6, 2025 at 8:13 PM
Not going to happen until both the Conservatives and Reform Ltd either cease to exist or become pro European along with the Mail, Telegraph and S*n.
October 6, 2025 at 7:11 PM
I'm glad you're not going to waste both of our time with your pie in the sky hopes. If you think that all of the EU27 would meekly assent to our demands I'm afraid I can't assist further.
October 6, 2025 at 5:25 PM
In your view we should simply inform the EU of our intention to join and ask them to make the necessary arrangements?
October 6, 2025 at 1:57 PM
Then you’ll be aware that the EU requires cross party support for membership in all candidate countries.
October 6, 2025 at 1:09 PM
You're missing out a step - we can't just inform the EU that we intend to join. They have to agree, and with Reform Ltd ahead in the polls and threatening to undo any deals with the EU, they will refuse to engage with Starmer. I want to rejoin the EU as much as anyone but it's 20 years away.
October 6, 2025 at 10:34 AM
I don't think it's a question of guts - if Starmer did as you asked and went all in on rejoin and lost the election to Reform Ltd as a result, would we be any better off? The reality is that it will take 20 years before we rejoin, and that's if nothing else happens in the meantime.

Any sane person is upset about the Manchester antisemitic murder. It’s not necessary to follow a particular faith to be revolted.
October 5, 2025 at 1:36 PM
I’m sorry but defining someone by their ethnicity is the problem.
October 5, 2025 at 1:34 PM
I’d be obliged if you could provide at least one example to illustrate your point.
