Oracle DBA since a very low version ago. Big Data, especially on Exadata and ExaScale. LinkedIn instructor, occasional author. Too many keyboards.
Are #OracleAIDatabase #26ai autonomous databases not yet caught up with the new version numbering? (i.e., 23.26.0)? I just created a new 26ai autonomous database, but it looks like the version is an October 2025 RU update to 23.10.0.25.10 instead?

OK, this is supposed to include Autonomous? I just created an "always free" 26ai database; but the version shows as 23.10.x.x.x instead of 23.26.0? Thanks.

I was behind this city bus over the weekend, and I suspect this marketing campaign is going to backfire.

Currently hanging out in 6-dimensional space. I guess I'm about 114.99 dimension-units from home. #OracleDatabase #23ai

I did this with 23.7 in the pre-built VirtualBox appliance:

alter system set inmemory_force=base_level scope=spfile;
alter system set inmemory_size=256m scope=spfile;

Of course there is only so much memory to work with, but I see this at the PDB level:

Things were going great today until cell storage offloading broke on #Oracle #Exadata again. 😡 I HATE when that happens.

A1 is getting so powerful these days.

I am attributing much of my success using #OracleDatabase this week to "Vibe Querying".
April 12, 2025 at 12:22 AM
I'll never tire of taking an #Oracle database query that runs for hours and never finishes, making a minor tweak to the query structure, then seeing it run in a few seconds on #Exadata.

#twit @twit.tv #SecurityNow How I watch Twit shows! On the way to work or back home. Of course I don't take my eyes off the road, execept when Steve shows the picture of the week. 📷

It's hard to quantify quality, but I was impressed with the detail I was getting with the 14b model. Looks like a bit over 1/s when I asked about TPS calculations. :)

Deepseek-r1 14b actually runs on my Raspberry Pi 5 with 16 GB. A bit slow, but I asked it two questions about Lollapalooza. Its "thought process" is rather odd, it's painfully slow on a Raspberry Pi, but it got the answer to both questions right. Eventually!

Free CoPilot with Office 365! Oh, but there's a catch. I have to use OneDrive. Fucking Microsoft.

My laptop got a workout today with the 43 GB llama 3.3 model.

But I'm glad the Oracle 23ai client supports error numbers up to 65535. #OracleDatabase #23ai

I guess AI will take over the world soon. Today, a local version of the llama 3.2 model on my Raspberry Pi told me I should eat 10 POUNDS OF CANDY BARS PER DAY.

Wow, I'm going to have to spend some time on one of these superclusters, just wait to see what kinds of AI cat pictures I can generate. Hell, they might even be in 3D. Wait, I think I'll be able to churn out a new Garfield movie every. Damn. Day.

Apparently, Windows Update just CAN'T WAIT to upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11. While at the same time telling me that I better check first. But is still going ahead with Windows 11 version 23H2. What could possibly go wrong.

One of the ways in which I entertain myself. Still wondering why IPv5 never took off either.
