Nobody had a choice in joining, it was a virus that spread everywhere (explained mostly in the pilot) and there are a few people who are immune, her being one of them. Also, she is queer and it plays an important part in why she is still resisting joining.

The director said the mini games were inspired by how janky the FFX ones were for instance. Basically game is really good, the discourse online sucks shit

It is a really excellent game imo. I have played a ton of turn based rpgs so this isn't just "babby's first rpg." But also obviously, the glazing that it's the greatest thing ever made is an over exaggeration. The game is fun though, and clearly made with passion and love for the genre.

But also, I think this is a result of just general product fatigue with MTG. 6 full sets a year is a ridiculous amount. If people are feeling fatigue now, I can't imagine what the general sentiment will be with Avatar launching at the end of the year.

I agree with the sentiment that Marvel has exacerbated this fatigue the most, but this has been my main concern with UB from the start. I love FF, and I feel like they did a great job with the cards. But like, I don't come to Magic to experience other IPs. I come to Magic to experience magic

The "Make Debut" tickets are from a fixed pool (the launch 3*s and SSRs specifically), and the head start ticket is from that same pool, but you can choose a specific 3*. So you can use those freely, but hold onto the regular ticket to help you be one draw closer to a guaranteed pull

It really sucks. I was looking forward to getting back into TCG, but seeing Fiendsmith just shift the price into the non-engraver cards, the mulcharmies still being prohibitively expensive, and then stuff like Combined Creation fly up in price really deflates that excitement

And what sucks is I know the cards will be designed well and evoke the characters they represent. But still, it just leaves such a bad taste in my mouth to think that I'll need to interact with these cards if I want to keep playing.
