It's the government's job to prevent detect and punish fraud, but when the government fails to do its job properly, people like her suggest punishing other beneficiaries instead of the malfeasant government.

I thought the timing was pretty good. Hold on until after the elections last week, but then reopen the government before snap children started starving to death. Point has been made. Midterms will be all about issues on which Democrats are strong, especially ACA subsidies.

I’m not sure that legislating a bipartisan budget makes any sense in a world of impoundments, rescissions, and OMB closing Departments and by fiat. Democratic legislators should all just go home for a few weeks.
