I figured it out! Turns out the set-up I had before was more complicated than it needed to be, and after searching through quite a few tutorials and posts made by other people, I managed to get something working! :D

After watching many youtube tutorials, I've figured out how to have a 2D sprite in a 3D space on Godot! Using the logo as a placehold until I make some actual sprites, will will likely be my next move to test sprite sheets!
