Zazen is based on Buddhism, incompatible with Zen's sudden enlightenment, transmission outside of teachings, etc.

He wasn't talking about sitting meditation. There's no text that's ever been translated that says so. None of his students taught that and there's no record of anyone doing that.

It was proven in 1990 that Zazen was a Japanese indigenous religion; Dogen committed fraud and plagiarism.
