Protests aren’t the only tool in the anti-authoritarian toolkit, but they’re incredibly important. Protests help us see each other; they make it feel safer to refuse to obey the dictator, and make it more possible for us to organize mass non-cooperation.

It’s an essential step in the process.

Some good news on the foreign aid funding freeze fight! As many have seen, the DC District Court has just issued a TRO against USG. A big initial victory, but there's a long road ahead. Some initial thoughts on the ruling, but first, here is the @nytimes.com writeup:

Judge Orders Trump Administration to Resume Foreign Aid Spending
The judge faulted the logic of a blanket freeze on foreign aid spending and found that groups that depend on the aid had made a strong initial showing of “irreparable harm.”

Elon Musk is perpetrating a digital and financial coup. This is not hyperbole. This is not euphemism. This is what has happened. 🧵

And Elon tweeting that USAID is a criminal organization that has to die -- unhinged, & another level of constraints that this sector hasn't realized it needs to contend with. How will partner NGOs react to news of (what?) information he wanted to obtain? How will this sector build trust again?

Amazing to see legislators fighting for democracy.
Lee Jae-myung, Leader of South Korea's Democratic Party, live-streamed himself scaling the walls of the National Assembly to bypass military barricades so that he could vote to overturn the President's martial law.
