I've been to a lot of protests at the capital, and this was the biggest crowd I've ever seen there. People packed in the space between the legislative buildings and a steady stream of folks on the main grounds, and lining the road next to the main protest. Did a heart good! #handsoff

Bureaucracy is people. Some have kids, while others are just getting started with their careers. They pay rent or a mortgage. These are not diabolical supervillains acting as a shadow government.

Trump’s order is part of a larger effort to erase transgender people (especially transgender women) from American life.

Earlier today, the Trump Administration released a list of things it’s going to rename. This comes after the administration changed the Gulf of Mexico’s name to the Gulf of America and renamed Alaska’s 20,000-foot peak Denali to Mt. McKinley.

The election hurt, mainly because it became clear to me that I don’t know my country. I don’t understand those who voted for Trump. We do not have the same values. Part of me wants to sit back and watch the chaos. There’s a self-satisfaction in “I told you so.”

But too many people will get hurt.
