A cease and desist probably doesn’t cost that much and really isn’t a heavy lift but if the person doesn’t cease or desist, it could be expensive to get them to stop.

Yeah, I just have to disagree on which version of events is more plausible. It also sounded like she talked to other jurors about it so it wasn’t immediate.
On the other, it sounded like the judge didn’t see anything happening (neither did the Crown). I have to think the juror misinterpreted.

Yeah I can’t explain that one other than to say that I don’t think the juror was lying on purpose, memory and eyewitness testimony is a weird thing. That just seems more plausible than a fairly successful lawyer throwing her career down the drain in such a brazen way for very little gain.

Maybe I’m just naive but I just don’t buy that the lawyer said what was reported. No lawyer would risk their bar membership so brazenly just to get an acquittal.
