No one knows how many users @obsidian.md has

I think it's around 5-10 million people but I'm not sure?

Anyone can download the app and start using it without creating an account or talking to anyone, and there are no analytics built-in 🤷‍♂️

Hey @openrightsgroup.bsky.social, love the work you all do but you should really set up domain verification on your account (bsky.social/about/blog/4...). Otherwise someone could easily create a spoof version of your account, say by adding a hypen somewhere in your name.. 👀

Here's how to verify your Bluesky account by setting your website as your username.

It's a nice feeling knowing that after popping ones virtual head over the parapet into areas of Bluesky occupied by those with less... savory views, I won't suddenly start seeing the same people's posts algorithmically presented to me without my consent.

For those saying that hosting your own PDS is currently unachievable for most, I don't necessarily disagree.. but I just had a read through the PDS installer script here: github.com/bluesky-soci...
That is no buggy, half baked, pipe to bash install.sh that we see so much. It's the real deal...

Some people seem to have the mistaken impression that accessibility only benefits a very small population of people, when actually everyone benefits from making sure things are accessible

Hello blue sky! Trying my hand (thumbs..?) at another (soon to be) decentralised social media protocol.
Having fun so far!
