TODAY is @powertodecide.bsky.social's 13th annual #ThxBirthControl Day...

Birth control access is POPULAR. The majority of Americans, regardless of political affiliation, agree it should be accessible. Let’s remind everyone (but policymakers in particular) of that! #ThxBirthControl #PublicHealth

The survivor panel at the National #HPV Conference lunch is fantastic! It’s about surviving but it’s also about quality of life, say survivors of HPV-related #oropharyngeal, #anal, and #cervical cancers. Thank you for sharing your experiences and stories with us!

Also, age 9-10 well visits are critical opportunities for HPV prevention: There are fewer (if any) vaccines that are promoted/required at that age (=fewer concerns from parents about “vaccine overloading”), & data show that earlier vaccination (@ age 9-10) leads to better vaccine series completion!

More evidence of early #HPV vaccination (ages 9 and 10) uptake: 95%+ vaccine series completion rates among those age 9-10 initiators

Highest #HPV vaccination rates in North Dakota are among Native priority populations (alright!). Black or African American priority populations have the lowest rates (we have work to do).

Reports from the National HPV Conference today indicate that those who initiate the #HPV vaccine series early — that is, at age 9 — are more likely to complete the series (which results in better protection). Also, the vaccines for children program is incredibly useful in improved vaccine uptake!
