Doing a walkthrough of a retiree's lab, and I think I have too much empathy for this 4-degree C to consider sending it to surplus. You and me both 4-degree C, you and me both.

My 1st faculty job in 2001 was so consuming I feared I’d drop my love of running, so I made an alliterative goal: 10,000 miles to tenure. I made it, and today, after 2 promotions, a move, a sabbatical, knee surgery, and raising a kid, I hit 60,000 miles. Current goal: running at retirement.

Which is why we need to keep atomic bombs out of the arctic.

Has the EPSCoR program been threatened? The NSF webpage still promotes it as "advancing geographic diversity in STEM". Perhaps geographic diversity is an acceptable form of DEI? And just coincidentally, it supports three red states for every blue state.
