Development policy and “arguments” like these should be brought up in strategic planning meetings. It has no place in a public council meeting.

Workforce housing is a proven solution for lower middle class families. They constantly show a return on investment in Michigan communities both in local economies and tax revenue.

I’m all for affordable housing and there must be a preferential option for the poor, but in order to support the poor in our community, there must be guidelines and pathways to help people out of poverty. constantly zoning affordable housing does promote the poor out of poverty.

Extreme winter weather, like the ice storm northern Michigan saw earlier this year, is becoming more unpredictable as climate change drives sharper temperature swings. Michigan must invest in proven natural-disaster resilience to protect families from increasingly costly and dangerous storms.
