Sleep and eating are deeply intertwined biological rhythms. When sleep is disrupted, the body’s hunger and fullness cues can become dysregulated, intensifying urges to binge or restrict. Similarly, after a binge, individuals may experience shame, discomfort, or restlessness.

Is it safe for someone with an eating disorder to use a GLP-1? The honest answer is: We don’t know, because adequate long-term GLP-1 data does not yet exist on this population.

There are many tools that can help in the process of healing from an eating disorder. Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is one approach that can be very effective. DBT encourages finding a balance between acceptance and change.
