Bellingcat’s contact email has always been a magnet for people with fairly unusual views; paranoid delusions, sprawling conspiracies, the works. But recently, the pattern has shifted, we’re seeing more and more emails clearly written with ChatGPT.

and this started with last minute (march) cuts to last year's phd admit class for schools that weren't able to buffer trumps cuts with their own funds.

overall amounts to a big reduction in phd training which i'm sure the trumpies are happy about.

grad programs around the country - even schools trump hasn't tried to extort yet - are shrinking grad program admissions markedly due to nih/nsf/etc grant shenanigans and general uncertainty.

plenty of studies showing poor correlation between teaching effectiveness and student evaluations. but, it's often hard and time consuming to measure teaching well, so we are stuck with satisfaction surveys that masquerade as (and are treated as) the data that would actually be useful.

since none of them had a trial, they are all innocent. maybe in reality some of them are gang members but we don’t really know that.
