an almost halloween-colored cicada. its body is black with ochre streaks. its upper wings are ochre with white venation and black stripes and edges. its lower wings have bright orange bases, and one orange spot each in the black edges. a tawny-colored cicada hanging wings-closed from a large blade of grass. its body is almost uniformly soft brown, except for the ends of its wings, which fade to a light cream color. two cidasa. the upper one has a dark black body with six ochre spots. its upper wings are colorless transparent with dark, burnt-looking brown markings surrounding the edges and venation. its bottom wings have this burnt brown at the very tips, but fade into an unpatterned bright blue at their bases. the lower cicada, a "white ghost", has a pale grey and tan upper body and a frosty white thorax with dark spots going down the middle. its wings are almost colorless, with the upper having only black venation, and the lower having uncolored venation with a faint fade to muted green towards their base. a black and gold cicada laying sideways on someone's fingers. its body is black. its eyes, legs, and wings are golden. if its wings have patterns, they are difficult to see past the shadow of what is presumably the phone used to take the picture.

a freshly moulted cidada hanging off of its empty husk. its wings are foggy sky blue with neon teal venation. a cicada with a dark olive green body and bright turquoise legs and wing-bases. it has a turquoise spot in the middle of its head, and foggy blue eyes. unstated if it's a generational coloration or if it's recently moulted and is in the process of losing its intense post-moult coloration. a slightly iridescent cicada. its upper body shifts between golden and emerald green. its thorax is rusty red with dark green splotches. its wings fade between bright blue and colorless transparent, with dark brown venation. a green and black cicada. its body is speckled between an earthy green and black, and its wings are mostly colorlessly transparent except for soft brown spackling at the very tips.

for any who aren't aware that drainflies look like itty bitty fluffy lil moths. (they are still flies however, despite the heavy moth resemblance)
a brown drainfly with super long, feathery antennae. its body is fluffy as a cat's paw and its wings are nearly round in shape. it has unusual wing venation in lines going straight top to bottom like pinstripes. either this one's antennae come out from the bottom of its head, or it is smushing its little face straight down into the surface it's bugging on. its head is black and fluffy, its butt is white and fluffy, and its closed wings are slightly iridescent. this one has a fluffy everything and little white spots on its dark brown wings. its lighter brown head is pointed to the lower center-left. it appears to be perched in an angy braced position but it rolled a 1 on intimidation. the fluffiest of them all. it has the smallest feathery antennae, but the fluff of its black and white head is bigger than its whole thorax which cannot even be seen. this one's wings are covered in faintly iridescent, coaly black feather-like structures, with long white fluff lining the edges.
