A source inside the ALP claims the Nat’s candidate for Bendigo spent $1m on his campaign, and as someone living up here, I’d believe it. The promo was frigging relentless and EVERYWHERE. Over a very long period. Nat’s How-to-vote staff numbering 4 to a booth, and getting way in people’s faces.

Personally, I wouldn’t fork out for that.

It’s a curious affair. As one critic put it, it’s akin to “an intellectual dating a porn star”. At the end of the day, I was taken in by the sad resignation of the protagonist and relatable “f$&k it, we’re all f$&ked now anyway” mindset of his journey.
