Today’s horror movie is Be My Cat: A Film for Anne. It’s currently streaming on Tubi, and boy is it weird. I’m a found footage junkie, but this one didn’t really do it for me. It’s about a guy that’s making a movie for Anne Hatheway, his celebrity obsession. Did I say it’s weird already?

26 days until Halloween! Today’s horror movie is Dagon (2001). This one is B movie gold. I mean, it’s a Stuart Gordon Lovecraft adaptation, so that’s always a plus. He definitely seemed like he was trying to cast a young Jeffrey Combs-type in the lead, and it very much works. Extremely underrated.

28 days until Halloween! Today’s horror movie is 2010’s The Wolfman. Gotta love those universal monsters. It’s not the greatest movie ever made, but it’s very atmospheric and Benicio Del Toro always delivers. Lots of CGI for the transformation scenes, but the werewolf itself looks super cool.
29 days until Halloween! Whew! Sorry folks! The Evil Izzy world has been super busy. That being said, today’s horror movie is Saw. I remember watching this when it came out and was blown away. It’s still very impressive on like the 10th watch, and it built one hell of a franchise.

42 days until Halloween! “Did you ever see that scene in Scanners where that dude’s head blew up?” Yes, guy from Wayne’s World, because today’s horror movie is indeed Scanners! This Cronenberg cult classic may have a lot of talking (some say too much,) but that head explosion is the best. Ever.
43 days until Halloween! Today’s horror movie is Cobweb. Very atmospheric with some solid scares, but the ending, and really the whole final act, left me unsatisfied. It seemed rushed, which is odd considering the $35 million budget. Lizzy Caplan’s performance was also…odd.

49 days until Halloween! Today’s horror movie is We’re All Going to the World’s Fair. This has got to be the slowest burn I’ve ever watched. It seems like nothing happens for most of the movie, but I couldn’t seem to look away. It’s certainly not for everyone, but the acting is very good.

49 days until Halloween! Today’s horror movie is We’re All Going to the World’s Fair. This has got to be the slowest burn I’ve ever watched. It seems like nothing happens for most of the movie, but I couldn’t seem to look away. It’s certainly not for everyone, but the acting is very good.

65 days until Halloween! Today’s horror movie is Talk to Me. This one is making a killing in the box office, and rightfully so. It’s a fun and unique take on the possession genre with solid acting and more then solid scares. I have a strong feeling that this movie is the start of a franchise.

66 days until Halloween! Today’s horror movie is Red State. Kevin Smith made this is 2011, and people didn’t know how to handle his jump into horror. It’s just as relevant now as it was then. The late Michael Parks absolutely nails the country cult leader persona. Very well cast film

67 days until Halloween! Today’s horror movie is Jennifer’s Body. This has been on my watchlist for years and saw it’s on Max so finally pulled the trigger. I’m glad I did because I loved it. This is how you do a horror comedy. Not the biggest Megan Fox fan, but she owns it here.
