As you may have noticed based on the date, I don't spend a ton of time here. Twitter is still useful to me despite Elon's best attempts to destroy it. I've also been unable to follow people here who I was on good terms with on twitter because I've been preemptively blocked, apparently.

I don't think Trump will serve another term, but he already tried to seize power once and the people just shrugged, so ultimately anything is possible. I sincerely hope that something can turn us away from our headlong rush into banana republic territory, but I just don't know what that could be.

We are now feeling the repercussions of 90 odd years of devaluing the concepts of rule of law and virtue in public officials. We are now in uncharted territory for this country.
