Backup arrived, giant new laser is all set up. It just *barely* fits on the table.

The delivery driver got the giant laser cutter box into the garage with a palette jack. I managed to get it from the garage to the base of the first of two half flights of stairs with a small dolly, but no further. Will wait for backup. 😅

Laser delivery was super fast! 😁

Actual label on my laser cutter. 😅
Thankfully it's really quick and easy to do on the Beamo.

FLUX laser cutters are on sale 50% off (US only?) with free rotary add-ons and free shipping!
I'm taking the opportunity to upgrade from my tiny 30W Beamo (which has been great) to a much larger 60W Hexa. The Beamo would just about fit inside the work area of the Hexa.

In response to multiple requests, I've listed this HDD clock for sale: www.ebay.com/itm/33627763...
Proceeds will be used towards the purchase of a large new 60W laser cutter to expand my creative possibilities. 😁

This was such a neat set to assemble: the moving power switch, rotating volume and contrast dials, tactile D pad and buttons, removable cartridges and swappable lenticular screens.

There's nothing quite like coffee, cartoons, and LEGO on a Saturday morning. 😁

More HDD clock animations.

This HDD clock I found while cleaning out my office today goes so hard. I think I got it via a crowdfunding campaign, but now this Instructables article is all I can find: www.instructables.com/Recycled-Har...

It's alive, it's trapped inside, and it likes music.

Roast my bodge process, feedback welcome.
This is 8x speed w all pauses removed. Pardon my shaky hands & bench. That's a 2mm LED. I'm using a single strand from 24AWG stranded wire, my finest tip knife to remove silk & solder mask, IPA to clean, my finest soldering tip, & conformal coating to seal.

Finished the laser cut acrylic diffuser and XY map for Fibonacci Infinity Tile 0. Here it's being driven by a #Pixelblaze by @wizard, running the Honeycomb pattern.
Waiting on translucent acrylic hardware, should get rid of the black dots.

Success! One down, five to go. Fibonacci Infinity Tile 0 next to a laser cut acrylic diffuser for Tile 1. I've fixed the unconnected traces in KiCad. Now to order a batch of Tile 1 PCBs!

Bish bash b̶o̶s̶h̶ bodge x6. They're not pretty, but let's see if they work before cleaning them up.

Mystery solved. There were six unconnected items in DRC that I somehow missed. 🤦

Good news: I received the Fibonacci Infinity Tile 0 LED PCBs!
Bad news: none of them work 😭

Yet another mind-blowing and highly educational video by AlphaPhoenix, in which he builds a 2,000,000,000 FPS camera and uses it to watch light move. In his garage. 🤯
Seriously, just go watch all of his videos.

I finally got an EMF Explorer Badge kit by @drc3p0.bsky.social! The PCB art is beautiful, the kit is easy to assemble & it sounds amazing. I spent some time over the weekend wandering the house listening to different sources of electromagnetic frequency noise.

I just watched a two hour long Nine Inch Nails music video and VFX demo in IMAX. Was not disappointed.

Here's an older video of me using a belt sander at my local makerspace to remove mouse bites from a Fibonacci64 Flower PCB.
