Tonight we finally got to Yule in The One Ring! My elf was wounded on each of the expeditions... And so the Company's Song of Victory is named The Doom of Belegond. Maybe his newly keen-bladed spear will save him next year?

Who doesn't love a nice dungeon map ;)

I have a few little ones in my various ttrpg scenarios

It's #selfpromosaturday and so here's butcher's at my copper and silver titles on @drivethrurpg.com Fancy some #DnD, Vaesen, Tales From the Loop, Savage Worlds or Call of Cthulhu for a one shot, convention game, or something to fill an evening or two?

Part of being a GM is like giving a Best Man's speech. You've responsibility for telling part of a tale, but it on the audience (players) to be filled with bonhomie and willing you to succeed and contributing with appropriate responses and good will. Games are more collaborative, but support your GM

I liked the new adaptation of Frankenstein, but then I do typically love a bit of Guillermo del Toro. Such a shame we didn't get a Mountains of Madness. It looks great, good performances, very gothic and extravagant, brimming with mood. Very characterful too.

Ah, Oblivion. I dig the first portion of the film, even if it's faintly ridiculous, the aesthetic and two main actors, silly sky base and other things do it for me. But then we get to the second segment and it goes completely off the rails. What other films start off great, but you wish were better?

I did the same sort of thing for my Call of Cthulhu scenario cover. Grabbing Affinity or another cheap program and messing about with stock images is really useful for folk who haven't got the skills to be gestural hand drawn artists. 👍

Had a lovely night playing some games and dancing around power cuts in Kyiv this week, Herd Mentality and a session of Pendragon. Great gaming space here for the casual games, view of the @idearoll.club studio to follow later!

What good #ttrpgs do we have for sci fi that are a bit niche, but quality? Preferably not OSR or super crunchy.

(I know about Mothership, Alien, Star Trek / Wars, *Borg, etc.)

Me old mucker Ben did me a lovely custom vignette for a recent birthday. Not the best picture of it, but love the details of a good custom mini and paint job. Particularly fond of the goose.

Ready to GM at a generous host's studio. If the power comes back on... Otherwise we might just tell ghost stories. 😁

I've seen some #ttrpg packs and chased down a lot of folk I know, but who are the other folks I should follow on here for gaming goodness? There's a lot going on in the world, but I'm looking for mainly roleplaying game 📀🐎 (rather than general talking about absolutely everything or what have you).

Picked up a cheeky gift for a friend while at Furnace, @beckyannison.bsky.social's Wreck This Deck, because only demon summoning will solve some issues.

Nice timing for my weekend reading to show up 😁
October 3, 2025 at 4:15 PM
My Vaesen Carpathian books have turned up in time for my birthday, which is nice. If only I didn't have to work today. 😁

Anyone wishing to similarly buy me and themselves a present might wish to grab one of my scenarios off Drivethru - win win for us both 🎂

I frequently play not-D&D rpgs in a Schloss for 10% of that. Please adjust the price by 20c accordingly. 😁

Trying out some ideas for Warhammer Old World makers. Next up work out how to do some zonal maps that look okay but don't eat all my ink too. Arts and crafts has always been a part of my #ttrpg hobby, even with the advent of digital.

Anyone have a good line on suitable paper / card / printable images suitable for Warhammer Old World? Happy with art as opposed to actual miniatures photos, as it's for the #ttrpg. I can probably rustle up some of my own, but why reinvent the wheel is someone else has done a decent job already?

Unknown Armies' excellent Jail Break from One Shots deffo want to be done in one bite.

"It is essential that your players understand that the action in this adventure comes from them interacting with each other."

As long as you manage expectations one-shots can be whatever you want them to be.
September 17, 2025 at 7:25 PM
Yeah, a one shot is one session, that's the idea. Although if people want to spread it out over more, have limited time per evening to play or whatever, I wouldn't be mad at them. Online play means a typical 3-4 hour one-shot may need to go into two 2-hour virtual slots for example [1/2]

Can we call a moratorium on #ttrpg designers using climbing a wall or kicking a door down as examples of their systems, as this fixes in people's minds they should be rolling for this drivel. Let's get some better examples, like kicking through a shield wall in a battle or something, please.

I've been dipping in and out of Warhammer Old World, and it just plain feels Warhammery. Bug or feature, you decide. The flavour of the words is just tasty. The rules have their over-engineered bits and benefit from doing test fights etc., but lots of joyful stuff in there. Good section on clues.

A game of two halves, congratulations on finding 😉

Thanks to the heroics of the #ttrpg community, my thrilling Savage Worlds pirates scenario is now a copper seller on @drivethrurpg.com

Get in on the action and maybe there'll be silver of even gold in them thar hills! ☠️🦜

Fun to hear Marina Hyde not only talk about D&D on the Rest is Entertainment, but also posit Daggerheart is a challenger to make it a multi-rpg space. Then we have Rory Stewart talking about Settlers of Catan today. If we've made it to "The Rest is..." Podcasts, we're mainstream, right? 😁
