i engage the boss, using castor, ogma, jagen, and abel to chip at him. gomer crits jagen bringing him down to low hp but jagen thankfully dodges on enemy phase.

marth visits the village for 5000 gold and i trade chain the bowgun from gordin to castor for the boss fight. the boss is stronger than the last and carries a hand axe which makes him pretty troublesome.

now we can recruit castor with caeda. he's better than gordin due to having better stats and move but he can't promote because fe1. marth takes out a cav with the rapier, earning himself hp/str/luck/def.

on turn 2, we start to engage the left group. everyone helps and ogma is attacked by castor, a recruitable unit that i forgot to screenshot.

one of the enemy pirates is darros, a recruitable unit. unfortunately he fucking sucks. he has 0% skill growth which is funny. turn 1 is uneventful due to lack of immediate enemies. draug is on the fort again to distract everyone and marth recruits darros on enemy phase.

here's chapter 2. as you can see, there's a big stretch of no enemies but a big group on either side. this actually happens a lot in this game. the middle of the map is populated by bridges and rivers which don't really impede our movement much. simple map again

we get 4 new units in c2. ogma is a mercenary which is good and the other 3 are fighters which is bad because axes suck and they can't promote. barst does actually have good stats but sword users will always be better than him

gazzak is a couple points better than the generic pirates, and his gate terrain gives him a decent amount of avoid, but he's no match for old man jagen and caeda. caeda is rewarded with a vulnerary for her efforts and marth seizes the first throne of many to come to finish chapter 1.

for now, wrys just heals 1 hp on marth and that's it. next turn, after jagen's hp/skill level, wrys can heal caeda in preparation for her epic showdown with the boss, the iconic gazzak

wrys is the worst staffer in the entire game, boasting a measly 3 wlv with a 20% growth, meaning he is the only staffer in the entire game that can potentially not reach the 5 wlv requirement to use the warp staff, the one that you really want to use. he sucks

not much happens on turn 4, i just keep moving forward. marth gets another kill on enemy phase and draug fights a bunch of pirates on the fort

i moved draug so he could counter this first guy and then caeda can finish him off. draug moves onto the fort and cain gives marth an iron sword.
