I used to think I was indecisive, but now I'm not so sure.

See also topics such as "ǃXóõ is the hardest language to learn".

I mean, yes, for your average English-speaker, perhaps. Probably not hard if you're speaking another Khoisan-language.

@skinnylatte

I'd be happy if we made it possible for people to have the babies they DO want to have.

I have many friends and acquaintances who aren't able to, and for many it's the greatest tragedy of their lives.

@skinnylatte it's the same thing with gender, I have colleagues who say they don't see gender, but fail to understand that this only marks them out as extra privileged because I assure you my female colleagues are acutely aware of their underprivileged situation every day.

Not seeing gender or […]

@mok0 tried simply doing a git pull in a terminal, maybe? I find that using the CLI solves 90% of git issues I have with IDEs and so on.

@mrundkvist sounds frustrating 😬

@juliette

Our children also display remarkable restraint in public, only to truly terrorize the home environment :D

If you have the space for it to be set up now, give it a go. It's hyggeligt and after 2 hours you know if it will work or not.

The main reason we don't put it up early now is […]

@juliette Depends entirely on the kid, I think. We usually wait until the 23rd anyway, but then leave it until the day before New Year's Eve.

@mrundkvist would make sense, though. In nature, most animals are quite risk averse and will flee long before risking death. Unless they're rabid or had the obvious upper hand.

@saustrup sounds like an early Christmas holiday to me! OK, maybe on the optimistic side...

@MPaola

Once had some mouthbreathers have a picnic on a lawn close to an apartment we lived in, didn't clean up after themselves and the seagulls moved in.

Never left, they were there being noisy at all hours four years later when we moved out. Thanks a bunch, stagdo-people.

> People ask questions for reasons OTHER than simply obtaining information. A question can be a way to start a conversation. A way to try to find out if you are alone in your confusion.

November 25, 2025 at 7:57 AM

@juliette Again, petty energy directed at some rando - love it :D
