What those people don't understand is :
- Infold (and papergames) has LEGAL RIGHTS on Nikki => Singaporean laws can apply.

- Cognosphere has NO LEGAL RIGHTS on Genshin, only MiHoYo does => Chinese laws apply.

It doesn't matter who dev/make/distribute/own/etc... the IP, LEGAL RIGHTS matter.

And it's also funny because you admitted that GENSHIN IMPACT LEGAL RIGHTS are owned by MiHoYo, the PARENT company, a CHINESE company who can't sign the agreement per Chinese laws ;)

But yeah, I, don't know what i'm talking about :D and you just proved you said bullshit for the last 100 messages !
June 3, 2025 at 12:33 PM
It's funny because my company has 2 brands :
Main company has brand A.
Sub company has brand B.

Do you know which company has legal rights on brand B ? Sub company ONLY. Because when the brand B was made, it was made by company B. LEGAL RIGHTS are owned by company B only. It's how it works, here !
June 3, 2025 at 12:32 PM
It doesn't say they own the LEGAL RIGHTS, the INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY, COPYRIGHTS, ETC... of the game FFS !

TLDR : LEGAL RIGHTS are owned by MiHoYo !

It doesn't matter which agreement you sign with Cognosphere, the (now) worldwide publisher. They still don't own Genshin LEGAL RIGHTS !
June 3, 2025 at 11:37 AM
And once again, you don't understand that developer, publisher, etc... are nothing to do with owning the legal rights !

ie : NetEase dev'd Marvel Rivals, Published Marvel Rivals, yet LEGAL RIGHTS are owned by Marvel Games (so M.E. and Disney), US company. That's why they could sign the agreement !
June 3, 2025 at 11:34 AM
That's why it makes me laugh when you say Chinese company signed the agreement because Marvel Rivals is made by Netease, while Marvel LEGAL RIGHTS are owned by Marvel Games which is an US company ! It doesn't matter if it is dev'ed and published by NetEase ! They own NO rights on Marvel !
June 3, 2025 at 11:29 AM
Yes. No matter who makes the movie, where it is distributed, who makes the games, who distribute them, etc..., since 2009, Disney owns the LEGAL RIGHTS of Marvel.
June 3, 2025 at 11:25 AM
You do realize you link the one who distribute the game, Cognosphere, which is completely different that the one who OWNS the LEGAL RIGHTS of the game, MiHoYo, right ?

Do you even understand what you are saying ?
June 3, 2025 at 11:23 AM
TLDR : You don't know what legal rights means and who own them.
June 3, 2025 at 11:21 AM
You linked me the TOS of the website. Do you read your own links ffs?

You proved you understand nothing and fail to read once again.
June 3, 2025 at 3:36 AM
It's written MiHoYo.
June 3, 2025 at 3:34 AM
No, it's wrong.
Hoyoverse owned the rights of Hoyolab, the website/forum.

Learn to read:
June 3, 2025 at 3:34 AM
Infinity Nikki LEGAL RIGHTS are owned by Infold LTD. It's written on their own website, i think they know more about this than you .
June 3, 2025 at 3:32 AM
It's like saying tencent owns the legal rights of marvel because they made a game. That's wrong.
Tencent dev'ed the game, publish the game, but the rights are owned by Marvel Games.
June 3, 2025 at 3:21 AM
But.... Omg you will never understand.

It doesn't matter who publishes the game, who dev'ed it, etc. What matters is who owns the legal rights.

For Genshin, it is MiHoYo, written on their website.
For Nikki, it's Infold, written on their website.
June 3, 2025 at 3:20 AM
On the other hand, Infold owns the legal rights of infinity nikki. It's different. It's written on their own website too.
June 3, 2025 at 2:42 AM
No.
Mihoyo owns Genshin Impact rights.

It's written on their own website.

You can do nothing about this. No matter what Hoyoverse does, If you want to make legal issues with Genshin, it's MiHoYo's layers you'll face.
June 3, 2025 at 2:40 AM
Yes, Infold is what Hoyoverse is to MiHoYo.

But papergames didn't make the game. It's Infold.

Hoyoverse didn't make the game, it's MiHoYo.

It's the complete opposite here.
June 3, 2025 at 1:05 AM
Not it's not the same and you failing to understand that prove you know nothing about laws.

Who owns Genshin rights? MiHoYo. Hoyoverse is a sub to MiHoYo, so it owns no legal rights on Genshin.

Who owns Nikki rights? Infold, so Singaporean laws apply to the project.
June 3, 2025 at 1:03 AM
No, it's not.

MiHoYo own Genshin Impact legal rights, so the game is Chinese and Chinese laws apply.

Infold own Nikki legal rights, so the game is Singaporean and Singaporean laws apply.

Never Hoyoverse owned Genshin legal rights.
June 3, 2025 at 12:55 AM
So MiHoYo won the rights.

And it is subjected to China law.

That's exactly what i say since forever, but those guys keep talking about Hoyoverse being Singaporean.
June 3, 2025 at 12:42 AM
But Hoyoverse doesn't own Genshin, it's MiHoYo, a Chinese company.

Infold own Nikki, and Infold is Singaporean.

You got the difference now?
June 3, 2025 at 12:41 AM
No,i've provided a link for the game AND the forum, because the same company has Legal rights for both for Nikki.

It's not the same with Genshin, owned by MiHoYo, and Hoyolab, owned by Cognosphere (Hoyoverse).
