For my tabletop, I stole the concept of "wealth checks" from the Expanse RPG. Instead of gold pieces or credits, your characters have a wealth stat. Basically it's a modifier to a skill roll. Different items and services have a target number to beat, and the GM can apply penalties and bonuses.

Discovery for what? Normally a disbarment hearing consists of submitting copies of the documents as filed, and giving the accused an opportunity to tell their side of the story before sanctions are pronounced.
