2/While I'm not a statistician myself, I did spend 10+ years working in HIV clinical trials research analysis at a grad school with a bunch of biostatisticians who wrote the book (literally) on stuff like this. Google "The Ethics of Placebo-controlled Trials: Methodological Justifications" for more.

Not illegal, but definitely unethical. They're reserved for new interventions, or for blinding purposes when risk of harm is minimal, not in cases where studies & widespread administration have already established these vaccines as an effective treatment. No compelling methodological reason exists.

Had titers drawn for MMR because while I had measles, didn't know if I ever got Measles & Rubella vaccines back in the 60s/early 70s (still immune, thank God). Up to date on Tdap & shingles. Have risk factors so hopefully still qualify for COVID vaccine. Anyone know if we get flu shots this year?

And requiring randomized, placebo-controlled trials at this stage makes ZERO sense. Good thing that list of risk factors includes depression, because this administration is depressing the Hell out of me and millions of others.

Would The Doctor be able to render himself in 2-D so I wouldn't have to fight for the arm rest? If so, I pick 9. Good conversation & a little extra seat room, what's not to like? I don't love a middle seat, but I am a little tempted by 3 as well. Definitely not the seat next to this guy!
