I got a call today from an unknown number. It was the local CMHT triage team which I had been referred to by ?police/LAS without my consent. No one told me about it and the role of the person on the phone was never given. She was kind, but did not understand autism very much at all. 1/3

Yeah, I’m not going to post my diagnostic reports online (at least not in full as that’s doxing my full name, hospital and address) but that doesn’t mean someone is faking illness. People are so entitled these days! 🫣

I am more motivated than ever to help close the huge knowledge and treatment gap for people with eating disorders, to prevent people ever reaching decisions around end of life.

These are my values of care co-designed with @agnesayton.bsky.social 👇🏽

It feels a tad anticlimactic given how much is going on 🫣 and whilst it doesn’t necessarily ‘change’ anything, just being listened to and VALIDATED means more to me than this doctor will likely ever know. 🙏🥲 But anyway, on Monday I was diagnosed with hypermobile Ehler’s Danlos Syndrome (hEDS). 🥹🦓💜

I know it probably seems a bit soon after setting up this account to rant 🫣 (my Twitter is still up for now if you want to understand the context), but I am absolutely fed up of ED services and charities misunderstanding the meaning of the term ‘co-production’. It all feels so fake and tokenistic. 😖

When Labour talks about sanctioning young people who don’t #work, they’re targeting those more likely to be:

•Disabled
•Racialised
•From poor areas
•Care leavers
•Young parents
•LGBTQ+
•Facing mental health challenges

Not all young people—these young people.

Great day with UCL medical students yesterday - loved being with @sensinglorna.bsky.social and other lived experience experts teaching about the importance of attending to lived experience when understanding and responding to people with eating disorders 👏🏼

As our open letter in @bmj.com today shows, Oregon assisted dying laws have already extended beyond conditions that can be defined as terminal. Why is this being ignored?
“We urge MPs to weigh these findings carefully and vote against the bill—it fails the public safety test.”

17 international physicians and advocates warn in @bmj.com the #AssistedDyingBill poses a grave threat to people with eating disorders.
