Acoustic music, music for dementia. Mandolin player. Also history, astrophysics, narrow boats and random stuff.
Oops, I've done it again. Bought another musical instrument. I am weak.

I miss checking 'trending' first thing in the morning and seeing a random famous name appear. There was always this moment of possibility, good or bad, depending on whether it was someone I admired or loathed. Dead? Nominated for Nobel Prize? Caught in a compromising position with a fire hydrant?

I didn't exactly rage-quit T'Other Place, but I left hurriedly without a record of who I was following, so Bluesky is a bit of an adventure, trying to find familiar voices and new interesting stuff. People are kind and follow back which is nice.

<sigh> Search for 'mandolin' on Bluesky and you get a lot of creative vegetable slicing.

Mandolins are the cranky toddlers of the instrument world. Short scale and high tension means if too hot, too cold, too wet, or too dry, the mandolin is not happy. Change in ambient conditions? Out of tune. So I am very excited about this small object of desire - www.youtube.com/watch?v=n9ts...

I'm not finding much music on Bluesky yet. We're a trio of old folkies who now do singalongs in Care Homes plus a few folk clubs.
