Having Saturday "off" in LA this weekend is so great! Lightly tempted to bop up to SF to see the Giants but also thinking a day in a beach town will be so lovely.

I often empathize with travelers visiting NYC for the first time. It's hard to fully grasp and understand just how massively large this city is. But I don't understand not even TRYING to get out of Midtown. There are so many ways to get around, and the subway in Manhattan is pretty straightforward.
A lot of people are hating on this but I think it's a pretty eye-opening account of what it's like for non-NYC-savvy travelers (aka most of the country) to experience the city
The subway can be intimidating for folks who have only known suburbs

I travel 100 days a year, but I'd never been to New York City until now. There were literal highs but disappointing lows.
I spend a third of my year traveling, but I somehow didn't make it to New York City until this winter. My first trip to the Big Apple was interesting.
