Once you get your head around him wanting a legacy and to be the richest man in the world, things fall into place.
He's willing to bet everyone else's livelihood on a 5% chance he becomes the hero that upends trade vs 95% chance of imploding the global economy and being able to pick up cheap assets.

2016-2020 was a test run. Many didn't have the capacity to stop themselves doing it then. Mainstream media learned nothing except what Social media taught it: It's easier to straddle both sides and reap the outrage cash than do journalism. Right now we're exactly where we expected to be.

Nice pic! Good to see you've made the transition over to here. I'm here not too often, and on X even less often trying to reduce exposure to extraneous nonsense hehe.

"Interesting" in the same way that you stare in awe and wonder at what will happen next when you accidentally catch your hand in a mangle but just keep winding to find out.

If one were to find out that the entire staff at the Tele had been replaced by an AI that just churned out nonsensical apocalyptic drama dressed up as news then that would actually make a lot more sense.

👍 There's a lot of these 'Opinion Headlines' as news-summary around these days. They do get old.

We need to get the end-to-end 'pipeline' cost-effectively working again. It would be relatively simple to make a financial case (ignoring care quality even) that Council-funded care costs would reduce if care homes weren't run for-profit by Private Equity companies now that the Tories have departed.

The biggest trick the Tories every pulled was to convince everyone that the only way to get over Brexit was to never talk about Brexit again. Finally breaking free from this learned helplessness was always going to be one of the biggest hurdles. We're finally moving.
