I’m starting to feel like if I had just stayed more consistent with therapy I wouldn’t have ended up doing this whole PhD thing.

Women are told we can 'have it all,' but what if the true revolution is putting ourselves first? In Me First, I explore the tensions between motherhood, career, and self-love, challenging the patriarchal pressures that keep us from fully thriving.

I fucking love women. We’re awesome. And we’re such an incredible force when we support each other and hold each other and raise each other up. We fucking rock.

Reflecting on some feminist writing from the early 60s and realizing that society would have rather had women as a bunch of sexed up drug addicts than let them make decisions for themselves.

Listen, I like being sexed up and high as much as the next girl, but at least it’s my choice.

Gross.
Senator Ron Johnson ( WI) responded when asked why he voted to take healthcare and food away from children;

I'm sitting on the couch, reading for school and taking notes. Henry starts saying my name and I look up. He tells me, "Mama, you look so pretty."
I'd like to think that Henry seeing his Mama doing something she absolutely loves is what makes me pretty.

Reframing Leading and Mothering

"It took years and distance for me to realize I was holding two heavy stories at once: one about what it meant to be a mother, and one about what it meant to lead."

How quickly would the economy collapse if grandparents stopped providing unpaid childcare? It’s time we stopped building entire systems on invisible labor.

My youngest, who’s 5, on being told 3 cookies are too many, “Ugh! C’mon, it’s just 2 and 1!” I mean, the math IS mathing.
