While the imp gathered himself, stepping from foot to foot under Leto’s patient but voracious gaze, Nadine lifted one of her hands and deftly formed the sigil for Shape Water. Long, crystalline rivulets pulled away from the tiefling’s face and shirt and jacket and pants, combining into a single narrow stream. It snaked toward the upperdeck rail as Nadine’s fingers subtly rippled, lifting glittering droplets from her hair, her cloak, her skin, and spinning them all together. She turned her head to look at Soren as she threaded in shimmering tendrils of water from his robes. For a brief moment, the three of them appeared to be connected by an intricate web, silvered by the moon. It was only a moment. The web condensed and narrowed. Then the thin, glistening rope of water wound with uncanny grace over the upperdeck rail and back into the sea. The three of them seemed to collectively release a breath, one they hadn’t realized they were holding.
