There's no statistically relevant correlation between the overall quality of Mission: Impossible films and the quality of their mask scenes, mainly because Mission: Impossible 2 is such a wild outlier.
A chart showing Mission Impossible films ranked by both "Quality of Film" and "Quality of Mask Reveal". There is a small but not statistically-significant correlation.

I have seen the new Mission: Impossible and I am sad to report that it is the worst in the series (as ranked by quality of scenes where someone rips off a mask to reveal they've secretly been someone else this whole time)
