House members are back home this week and I've never see anything like the footage coming out of these in-district town halls. From Milton NY Dems, a constituent of Rep. Paul Tonko talks about the need for John Lewis-style leadership and civil disobedience and gets a standing ovation.

Marbury v Madison is a seminal case from 1803 that holds that the federal courts must determine the constitutionality of the actions of the other two branches of government. Hope that helps, Stephen.

If Musk, Capo Trump’s enforcer, meant to freeze the work of government, he’s doing a great job. By short-circuiting the legislative process, he has invited (and is receiving) lawsuits that will freeze everything in place. This is what Amateur Hour gets you.

I definitely feel I'm Jokerfying. You look one way and you've got 4 different Beavis-Snokes deleting every third grandpa from social security and in the other it's an economy currently hinging on the success of the least profitable software product of all time that is also destroying the earth.

Here's a fact most Americans don't know:
The Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) is the largest purchaser of wine by dollar value in the world.
The LCBO has shut the flow of all American beer, wine, spirits.
We will drink "Freedom wines" from our allies and beer from our communities.

Seen on my news and academic feeds today:

"This is highly illegal!"
"Where are the courts?"
"Someone needs to arrest him/them!"
"The military needs to oust them!"
"WHERE ARE THE DEMS?"

This is the denial stage of grief. None of the above institutions are coming to save us.

We are all we've got.

This underscores how important it will be for those of us on the side of reason and functionality (and compassion...) to apply for boards, run for local office, go to local government meetings and make our voices heard.
In a thread urging Alaska Republicans to reject bipartisanship, Moms for Liberty Anchorage Chapter Chair Gabby Ide drops the facade—compromise isn’t part of her agenda. Her goal? Seize the school board, gut public education, ban books, and silence anyone who gets in her way.

Yes, this administration is dangerous and cruel, but they are also shockingly dim and incompetent.

Opportunities are everywhere.

Make everything as hard as possible. Resist every demand. Refuse entry without a warrant. Don’t take the buyout. Their problem solving skills are 📉

Here are 2 examples of the threatening emails that were sent to fed employees asking them to report on “DEI hires.” What exactly they’re asking people to do is a bit confusing and varies with the agency but it clearly can be interpreted as “tell us if you think a woman or minority should be fired.”

remember, the blitzkrieg is intended to make you feel like there is nothing you can do about it; that’s the only reason to go forward in this haphazard and sloppy manner all in the first week

and the choice of that strategy tells you they are afraid you *will* do something about it
