But if the universe is still in existence 1068 times (1 followed by 68 zeros) longer than it has hitherto existed, the black holes created from the death of stars will have radiated away. At even longer timescales, even the supermassive black holes will shrink and vanish. They were some of the first objects created in the universe, and they will be some of the last objects left in that distant future, 1098 years away. When they're gone, the universe will be filled only with the faint, ever-waning glow of the black holes' remaining Hawking radiation. No life will exist, no ideas will be thought up, no matter will remain. By all accounts, the last stage of the universe will be a dark and constantly growing void.
