Hi, I’m Rachella!

In my 24-years in events…
I've done A LOT.
I've made mistakes.
I've made corrections.
I've experienced a lot of what can, and will happen.
And I've become an expert.

I’m here to support YOU—event profs and new planners.

Say hello! Let’s do amazing things! x
Reading the FB comments the next day after you decide to close a festival early due to extreme heat temps of 39’C (102’F) is an interesting experience. 🥵🤦🏽‍♀️😂

My son says he wants to be an event planner. To prepare him, I made him redo his homework 9 times, then told him “I’m sorry but the client no longer has the budget for this" and threw it out the window.

This ad. It says it all. Not everything needs reinventing. Good design—and good business—stand the test of time by being simple, effective, and built to last. Stick to what works.

Who doesn’t love a BIC?!

What’s more dangerous in the world of events?
1: The chaos of bump-in—forklifts, tight deadlines, and coffee-fuelled stress.
or/
2: When the event is live and the public arrives—unexpected surprises, endless troubleshooting, and the occasional minor meltdown.

You know you’re an event planner when your car looks like a mobile office meets hardware store.

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve carried around ‘just in case’? Bet you can’t beat mine—an inflatable flamingo (don’t ask).

Let’s hear your stories!

The Meeting Marathon Paradox.

You know those days when your calendar is so packed with meetings about planning the event… that you’re too busy meeting to actually plan the event? 😬

How do we do it? Let’s be honest, it’s after hours.

Event pros, can we talk about something that’s draining our bank accounts faster than a no-pay client? Insurance costs.
It feels like every time we renew, the public liability premiums for event management climb higher. Quite frankly, I'm annoyed.

Events are not for the faint-hearted. They demand long hours, endless problem-solving and a willingness to give everything you’ve got.

Yet, as exhausting as it is, there’s nothing quite like seeing everything come together. It’s these moments of connection that make all the challenges worthwhile.

Question for the freelancers and business owners: Do you typically work an 8hr day OR do you work until you’ve achieved an outcome?

Give me a high-viz vest, keys hanging on a lanyard and a clipboard.. and I'll have the confidence to go anywhere and persuade anyone to do anything for me! 😂

Event Planners, let’s talk about the week before the big day. This is what the *real* schedule usually looks like: 😬

My motto for 2025: The simpler the event process, the better. You need LESS steps. Not more.

My superpower: Simplifying complex events into manageable systems.

Looking to 2025:
The industry needs less hype and more substance. Less "revolutionary concepts" and more practical solutions. While others chase trends, I'll keep focusing on what actually works: solid planning, practical execution, and putting safety first.

2024 taught me that the event industry needs both innovation and practicality.

While everyone's chasing the next big thing, I'm still here asking "but is it safe?" and "can we actually deliver this?"

Event vendors and suppliers. Be VERY CAREFUL if you want to criticise your competitors to your clients. In fact just don’t do it.

Micromanagement isn’t just a bad habit - it’s a waste of time and resources. It’s time ALL managers move to become outcome oriented instead of hourly focused.

Opening emails on a Monday when I’ve already decided to wind down for xmas. Brutal.

Great events aren’t just logistics. They’re fuelled by passion, driven by a clear vision, and planned thoughtfully. Every detail should reflect the quality and creativity of its founders.

Picked up a few snacks on my way to the client presentation… and somehow accidentally spent $100 on pastries.

Just trying to be professional, but now we’re all eating like royalty. 🍰😬

The "how did I end up here?" moment.
Event Planner: "Okay, we’ve got a solid plan—everything’s organized!"
Client: "Great! Oh, by the way, I changed the entire theme last night."

There is no happiness without meeting your responsibilities.
Think about it. What makes most of us happy is simply 'doing a good job'.

So, it must be—event managers must be the happiest people on the planet! 🤩

I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA WHAT I'M DOING!!!
Say it loudly so the people down the back can hear you.

... did that feel good to get off your chest? Good. Now you can get on with whatever you were trying to do x

When you've finished the FINAL floor plan, and the client says, 'Can we just move this stage... over there?' (cue the internal scream)
