Thanks so much to Maria Ashford @bookshelfie-hq.bsky.social for the thoughtful, detailed review of Red Vienna. It’s overwhelming to feel so appreciated—because, after all, what do any of us want from life? I am deeply grateful.

Horn & Hardart fans will be pleased to know that Cordes-sur-Cie, FR, has a real automat in at Hôtel La Métairie at the edge of town. Obscure, yes, but open 24 hours. The tortellini, tasted a lot like canned tortellini, but still. An automat!

This unique ice cream cone recently appeared in Tom's chocolate shop. It was created by sculptor Philippe Boutillier for Silvain Chomet's whimsical film, Attila Marcel, where it played a role in the seaside scene.

Some more of the locks, latches, and keyholes in the show I just hung at Tom’s shop. I sold seven notecards and one framed picture on the first day!

Yesterday I started hanging my pictures of locks, latches and door handles up in Tom’s shop. I sold six of the notecards before I finished hanging up the photos!
