I don’t think that is the case. They believe, and they know, but the defense of a political ‘brand’, makes them to not care. The important thing is that their party is ruling. Look at the criminals he is appointing, and the party already made clear they will all be confirmed.

“The worse enemy of an immigrant is another immigrant”. As an immigrant person, I couldn’t agree more. And this correlates so much with the book Caste: The origins of our discontents by Isabel Wilkerson, she talks of how minorities see other minorities like them as competition. So sad!
