Something about the responsibility of the individual and how they put themselves there so they need to dig themselves out of it or some bs. We already do that, those with insurance pay more overall because of people who are unable to pay. If everyone is insured, we save overall.

My personal criticism is that slurs shouldn't ever be used unless like they personally pertain to you. It gives "I'm itching to say slurs but people would be upset". Idgaf if you tell some pile of code it shouldn't even be taking up hard drive space, it's the desire to use dehumanizing language.

I mean Amazon got it's first union after union busting for years. Thanks to the red scare collective action is scary communism. Americans are also dreadfully individualistic so working towards a common goal is hard enough. We can't even list fucking taxes on price tags.

Sure you use to, but we're struggling to pay our non-tipped workers a decent wage. Hopefully we get away from wage slavery but unfortunately half the country disagrees and would rather give tax cuts to billionaires. I want tipping culture gone too but until we make strides as a culture I'll tip.

This is fair, however you can't fight the employer without a collective, which requires organizing which can be difficult when your coworkers are apathetic, ignorant, or fearful of illegal backlash (losing your job). :/ but I will say berating customers isn't going to help either.

So be more mindful doing what many Europeans criticize Americans doing. You are criticizing tipping culture without nearly the understanding of the working conditions or the working culture of another country. Many of us are aware it's toxic, many accept it is what it is.

You should know worker exploitation isn't willful, being impoverished is expensive, exhausting, painful and it's part of the working culture to unfortunately pay waitresses less and that takes a long time to change. In fact, it will likely result in businesses failing (which might be a good thing)

It's also really difficult to convince coworkers who are underpaid to engaged in strikes, or even just join one. Often companies demonize unions, saying "don't join a union", some might union bust even if it's illegal because taking legal action is expensive and risky for the poor

You don't always get to just choose where you work and you can't always just go somewhere else. People need to work to survive and will work whatever they have to in order to stay alive. Joining a union also isn't always possible, either there isn't one or people don't know you can make one.
